Discover the ancient and delicate art of silversmithing!
Tickets £130
Work with sterling silver to create the crown jewel of ancient treasure hoards — the Celtic torc! Learn a full range of silversmithing techniques, from basic to more complex, and craft your own Celtic wrist torc in silver under the guidance of one of the UK’s leading historical metalworkers.
Taught by Neil Burridge, master historical metalworker and museum replica-maker, you’ll learn the fundamentals of annealing and shaping, and develop your skills with more complex silversmithing techniques including twisting and soldering metal. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have crafted a stunning wrist torc out of sterling silver, based on the design of ancient artefacts found in British treasuries and beyond.
