Celebrate the Spring Equinox by making a crown and a wreath. Guided by expert heritage craftsperson Louise Arthur, twist a simple willow crown and adorn it with fresh flowers or foliage at home. Learn how to also weave a beautiful 25cm wreath base that can be decorated again and again to reflect the changing seasons, or used as a meditative focus. Manual dexterity and patience is all that’s required.

Louise Arthur is a basketmaker and teacher based in Hampshire, UK. She combines contemporary design and heritage skills with her passion for the environment. Her baskets are hand woven from sustainably grown British willow and often incorporate hedgerow plants, foraged fibres and coppiced wood. She weaves people and nature together.

Please wear sensible clothing and footwear for this workshop. Lunch is not included, although sandwiches (subject to availability), hot and cold drinks, and snacks are sold in our gift shop. You’re also welcome to bring a picnic if you prefer!

This workshop is intended for adults, but suitable for ages 16+. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Accompanying adults do not need workshop tickets themselves but are required to pay the site entrance fee.
