Horrible Histories: The Movie – Rotten Romans (Film in a Roundhouse)

Filmed at Butser Ancient Farm, Horrible Histories the Movie – Rotten Romans was a smash hit of Summer 2019. Secret-cinema style we will be screening the film in our great roundhouse, the very location used for key scenes in the film, where you will be joined by a rag-tag band of Rotten Romans and Cut-throat Celts providing added entertainment and insight into ancient life. Roman themed snacks and drinks will be available to purchase and you’ll be able to explore the farm and film-set after hours.
Seating will be provided but feel free to bring blankets or low backed seating to maximise your enjoyment. Dressing up is also encouraged!
Gates open from 6.00 and the film will start at 6.45pm in our great roundhouse.
All profits will go to supporting the ongoing educational and research work of Butser Ancient Farm.
USEFUL INFORMATION: Please wrap up warm with sensible footwear as it can be chilly at the farm once the sun sets. You may wish to bring a blanket or cushion to make your seat more comfortable.
Please bring a torch as it may be dark returning to your car to the end of the event.
There will be refreshments available to purchase in the roundhouse during this event – please bring cash. There will also be the opportunity to buy hot drinks, snacks and gifts in our gift shop.
ANIMALS: We are sorry but dogs (apart from assistance dogs) are not invited to this special event.
ALCOHOL: No alcohol to be brought into the event.
REFUNDS: We cannot offer any refunds on tickets unless we at Butser Ancient Farm need to cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances.
COVID-19: We will be complying with any relevant Covid-19 government guidance in place at the time of the event including the latest guidance on mask wearing. If you have any Covid-19 symptoms or have been asked to self-isolate, please do not attend.
