Wild Moon Storytelling and Creative Writing Workshop

  • Butser Ancient Farm Chalton Lane Hampshire, PO8 0BG United Kingdom (map)

Immersive yourself in the ancient art of oral storytelling and experiment with creative writing of all kinds. Learn meditative walking practices to inspire your writing and be inspired by the full moon and its myths and folklore. Explore the land on which Butser stands; its history, mythology, flora and fauna. Reflect on our ancestors and the idea of spirit of place. End the day by gathering together around the fire for a final story.

There will be time for solo writing, as well as opportunities to share with what you have written, with no obligation to do so. Absolutely everyone is welcome, from seasoned professionals to complete beginners.

About the workshop

  • One-day workshop, 10am - 3pm with a break for lunch

  • Learn meditative walking practices

  • Be inspired by the full moon and create new writing

  • Discover how to tell stories whilst gathered around a crackling fire

  • Supportive and kind atmosphere

  • Set in the unique surroundings of Butser Ancient Farm’s historic buildings

The aim is for all participants to come away with lots of new pieces of writing which they may want to develop in the future, as well as each having at least one story they could comfortably retell themselves.
