Tales of Piety, Pokers and Posteriors! Gather by the roundhouse hearth for storytelling of the hilarious canterbury tales, rebooted for modern folks…
Single ticket £18.50
Drunks, priests, drunken priests, lechers, pilgrims, students, craftsmen and common folk of all shapes and sizes come together, from the base and bawdy to the holy and puritanical. Join Jason Buck and Dave Tonge for an afternoon of culture and comedy, from the annals of Chaucer's medieval writing, rebooted, reshod and brought up to date for modern audiences with old characters made into the people and trades we know and recognise.
Dave is a jobbing teller of tales, who's worked from the North to the South of the UK, with appearances at festivals, castles and hearthfires for the country over.
“Dave is every inch a mesmeric character, from the tip of his expressive fingertips to the tilt of his tall hat", Settle Storytelling Festival
"Dave Tonge’s storytelling skills stand out among many very good ones for more than the others he shares the stories rather than just tell them." Stafford Knott Storytelling Club
"Jason Buck is a man made of myth, magic and mead. His stories are filled with adventure, his beard is full of unexpected twists and his tankard filled with a poet's brew. Sit around the fire and listen to his tales - you won't be disappointed." - Abbie, Strange Times Storytelling Club
Dave and Jason’s vividly told, immersive stories are suitable for adults and older teens 16+ due to some adult nature in these tales.
There will be a bar selling locally produced cider, mead and a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Hot drinks and snacks will also be available to be purchased from our shop.
