Led by artist and heritage craftsperson Mandie Molyneux, engage with creativity and craftsmanship to learn the intricate techniques of carving, shaping, and refining wooden spoons. Connect with tradition and transform a simple block of wood into a functional and personalised piece of art.

About the workshop

  • One-day workshop, 10am - 3pm with a break for lunch

  • Learn to work with traditional tools and natural green wood to carve, shape, and refine your own wooden spoon

  • Relaxing & welcoming, female-led & beginner-friendly

  • Set in the unique surroundings of Butser Ancient Farm’s historic buildings

Included in your ticket

Entrance to the farm, a day’s tuition and expertise, and all the tools and materials necessary to create a functional and beautiful spoon from wood.

 
  • Please wear sensible clothing and footwear for this workshop. Make sure to warm up warm! Lunch is not included, although sandwiches (subject to availability), hot and cold drinks, and snacks are sold in our gift shop. You’re also welcome to bring a picnic if you prefer!

    This workshop is intended for adults, but suitable for ages 16+. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Accompanying adults do not need workshop tickets themselves but are required to pay the site entrance fee.
