Unwind during the hustle and bustle of the festive season by learning to craft with raffia. Sit round a crackling fire and create a small, unique raffia basket in this hands-on workshop. Perfect to use for decoration, store small items, or gift to someone special. Led by artist and heritage craftsperson Mandie Molyneux, engage with creativity and craftsmanship to learn the soothing practice of using raffia. A degree of dexterity is ideal, although help will be available to get you started. This relaxing activity can easily turn into a new hobby.

Mandie Molyneux has almost thirty years workshop experience, training other artists in workshop facilitation, lecturing and teaching in universities, along with curating and hanging exhibitions in mainstream galleries. Mandie has a passion for creating with foraged natural materials, and continues to enjoy learning and practising new skills that she relishes in sharing.

Please wear sensible clothing and footwear for this workshop. Lunch is not included, although sandwiches (subject to availability), hot and cold drinks, and snacks are sold in our gift shop. You’re also welcome to bring a picnic if you prefer!
This workshop is intended for adults, but suitable for ages 16+. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Accompanying adults do not need workshop tickets themselves but are required to pay the site entrance fee.
