Bring nature into your home and craft a gorgeous handmade hedgerow wreath! Led by heritage craftsperson Kat Wootton, work with exclusively natural and foraged materials from the local countryside to create your own Christmas or Yule wreath to decorate your home. Immerse yourself in the timeless beauty of our Saxon meadhall in this calming escape from the bustle of modern Christmas.

About the workshop

  • Two hour workshop with a break for refreshments, including a winter warmer dram of mead or hot drink

  • Craft a stunning Christmas or Yule wreath to decorate your home

  • Work with locally-grown greenery including clematis, holly, and ivy

  • Decorate your wreath with berries, pinecones, and other green materials

Please note this workshop uses locally-grown greenery collected just before the workshop, and exact plants on offer may vary.

Included in your ticket

A morning’s tuition and expertise in a historic building, and all the materials necessary to craft your own decorative Christmas or Yule wreath. Also included is a winter warmer dram of mead, or a hot drink of your choice.

 
  • Please wear sensible clothing and footwear for this workshop. Lunch is not included, although sandwiches (subject to availability), hot and cold drinks, and snacks are sold in our gift shop. You’re also welcome to bring a picnic if you prefer!

    This workshop is intended for adults, but suitable for ages 16+. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Accompanying adults do not need workshop tickets themselves but are required to pay the site entrance fee.
