Recreate a gorgeous piece of historical jewellery in an ancient precious metal!
Tickets £65
Learn to work with silver and craft a stunning annular brooch — the style worn by Celts, Anglo-Saxons, Vikings, and beyond. Discover the ancient art of jewellery making, and create your own design!
Guided by expert jeweller Sarah Macrae, you’ll spend the morning learning to shape and solder silver into the iconic annular style, as well how to pattern your brooch with punches or engravings, taking inspiration in your design from more ancient examples. Lean into the brooch’s Celtic origins and pattern your brooch with knots and weaves; embrace the Viking uses and inscribe a meaningful word or phrase in runes; or devise your own more modern spin on this ancient classic.
