Join us to share in a special online Imbolc celebration with Storyteller Jonathon Huet, delivered live over zoom.
Although sadly we can't gather together around the roundhouse hearth this year, Jonathon will conjure some of the same magic through storytelling, guided meditation, poetry, prose and drumming, connecting us wherever we may be.
Imbolc is an ancient Celtic or Gaelic festival also known as St Brigid's day, marking the beginning of spring. It was traditionally celebrated at the start of February, halfway between the winter solstice and spring equinox.
This event will include Celtic storytelling and an early spring ritual believed to invoke the protection of Brigid - the Celtic goddess of inspiration -for the year ahead, as well as honoring the sacred land around us as it wakes from winter slumber.
We will learn about the origins of the festival and experience Celtic poetry, prose and drumming which will enable us to feel uplifted and connected as a community for the coming year.
The talk will be delivered live online over zoom. Please make sure you have downloaded and installed the free zoom programme in advance to be able to join us. A joining link and further instructions will be sent out in advance of the event.
Please note: Jonathon Huet will be telling stories from his home to yours, sadly we don’t have wifi in our roundhouses to stream directly from the roundhouse fireside, but will be together at Butser Ancient Farm in spirit!
