CANCELLED An Evening with the Warriors – Mead, Music and Storytelling with the Vikings and Saxons

Sadly our ‘Evening with the Warriors’ event is unable to go ahead this year due to restrictions related to COVID-19. Unfortunately an indoor event in the Roundhouse on the scale planned, with multiple reenactment groups, was not possible. All ticket holders will shortly be contacted and fully refunded. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Don’t miss the unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the Dark Ages for an evening at Butser Ancient Farm this September. 

On Saturday 19th  September, in conjunction with the exciting Vikings Attack! event, guests will be able to join the Vikings of Wuffa and the Anglo Saxons of Herigeas Hundas for an evening of mead, music and storytelling in the farm’s magical largest roundhouse from 7pm until 9pm. 

Gather round the fire and enjoy fantastic fables and thrilling tales from our storytellers as they spin the stories of the Norse myths, along with performances from the group's musicians using traditional instruments. 

Join the warriors of the two war bands for a mead or an ale, see them in their finest clothing and listen to the sounds of our ancestors as you get lost in their midst and surround yourself with history. 

Doors open at 6.45pm for the event to start at 7pm. 

There will be a cash bar available serving mead, ales, soft drinks and snacks. 

Please bring a torch and you may wish to bring cushions or blankets to make our chairs more comfortable!
