In these extraordinary times the health and safety of our staff, volunteers and visitors is our most important concern. In light of the most recent public health guidance in relation to COVID-19 we have taken the difficult decision to cancel this event and Butser will be closed until further notice.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused. Please stay safe and look after one another.

Honour the ancient celebration of Ēostre with your ancestors this Easter weekend and welcome back the spring at Butser Ancient Farm.
The Anglo-Saxons of Herigeas Hundas will be joined by the Iron Age Britons and Pictish Warriors to greet the new season in the farm’s Saxon Long Hall and celebrate the goddess, Ēostre.
The weekend will be filled with living history dsiplays from weaving and authentic cooking to wood and leather crafting.
There will also be exciting combat displays throughout the weekend, visitors can come face to face with terrifying warriors as they do battle in the shield wall and come under fire from skilled archers.
On Saturday evening there will be the unique opportunity to join the warriors from Herigeas Hundas and visiting tribes around the fire of Butser Ancient farms largest roundhouse, to share a cup of mead and become lost in the magic of pagan rituals, music and storytelling. (Please note tickets for the evening event must be prebooked due to very limited capacity.)
