Ancient Astronomers - talk with our archaeologist

  • Butser Ancient Farm Chalton Lane Hampshire, PO8 0BG United Kingdom (map)

Gather round our standing stone and discover the importance of the night sky to our ancestors in a talk with our archaeologist. From Stonehenge to the ancient passage tombs of Ireland, we know prehistoric people had a close relationship with the day and night sky — and, thanks to a lack of pollution, could see it far better than most of us today ever will.

In this short and informal talk, Thérèse will introduce you to archaeoastronomy and the secrets it can help unlock from the British landscape, as fascinating artefacts from prehistory like the Nebra sky disc and its many mysteries.

This talk is suitable for all ages and included in the price of admission.
