Butser Merriest Midwinter Social Media Competition

Terms and Conditions

1.      The promoter is: Butser Ancient Farm is managed by Butser Education CIC, a registered Community Interest Company 06957028. The registered address is BUTSER ANCIENT FARM, CHALTON LANE, WATERLOOVILLE, HAMPSHIRE, PO8 0BG, UK

2.      The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over except employees of Butser Ancient Farm and their close relatives and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the competition.

3.      There is no entry fee but participants must own an official Butser Time Travel passport, only obtainable by purchasing an entrance ticket between 20th July and 1st September 2024.

4.      By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

5.      The competition will run on both Facebook and Instagram.

6.      Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified.

7.      The competition will run from 20th July till 1st September 2024, when the winner will be announced. Entrants will be entered into a prize draw.

8.      No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.

9.      The rules of the competition and how to enter are as follows: We will randomly select the winner from the pool of entrants with qualifying posts (image of completed Time Travel passport, tagging Butser’s accounts and/or using the hashtag #ButserSummer) on Facebook or Instagram.

10.   The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God, or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.

11.   The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.

12.   The prize is as follows: A family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) for the Midwinter Quest at Butser in 2024. The winner may select the date to use the prize.

13.   The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.

15.   The winner will be notified by email and/or DM on Instagram/Facebook within 24 hours of the closing date. The winner will only ever be contacted by the official Butser account. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize.

16.   The promoter will notify the winner how the prize can be collected.

17.   The promoter’s decision as to those able to take part and the selection of winners is final. No correspondence relating to the competition will be entered into.

18.   The promoter shall have the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these terms and conditions, such change shall be effective immediately upon posting to this webpage.

19.   The promoter also reserves the right to cancel the competition if circumstances arise outside of its control.

20.   The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.

21.   The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.

22.   By entering into this competition, you agree to the use and sharing of your chosen image(s) by Butser.

23.   The winner’s name will be available by emailing the following address: marketing@butserancientfarm.co.uk.

24.   Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.

25.   Insofar as is permitted by law, Butser Ancient Farm (including its subsidiaries, agents or distributors) will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner(s) or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize, except where it is caused by the negligence of Butser Ancient Farm, its subsidiaries, agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

26.   You agree to indemnify Butser Ancient Farm (and its subsidiaries) against any claim from any third party for any breach of the Rules or these Terms and Conditions.

27.   This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or any other Social Network.
