Summer Solstice Sounds & Stories

  • Butser Ancient Farm Chalton Lane Hampshire, PO8 0BG United Kingdom (map)

Celebrate the summit of the year with gongs and storytelling in an ancient roundhouse!

Join us for a unique Summer Solstice experience where we will gather around the fire in our Iron Age roundhouse to hear stories and bathe in the sound of gongs. As the sun sets on the longest day of the year we invite you to connect with your inner worlds, the land around you, and the wider community at Butser Ancient Farm.

Tickets: £34.50

Connect to ancient traditions through story and sound in our Great Roundhouse, led by Woodland Bard Jonathon Huet and historical musician and sound therapist Jez Smith. The time will allow you to find stillness, feel the sun within you, and take what you need into the next phase of the year. Allow the ancient meditative power of sound to welcome in wellbeing and relaxation: celebrate summery nature, honour the harvest, and respect the ancient bond between humanity and faerie folk. There’s magic in the air — join us by the fire!

Jonathon Huet, the Woodland Bard, will recite the ancient stories of the Celtic traditions with gentle drumming, poetry and prose. Jez Smith will play his gongs and bowls to offer a powerful sonic experience. Jez is a historical musician with over 35 years experience, and is a qualified sound therapist from BAST and COSH.
